Servals encourages rural innovations that contribute towards energy self-sufficiency. Its flagship products include a stove burner that saves up to 27% kerosene and a straight vegetable oil stove. In recognition of its achievements, the company has received many awards including the L-Ramp Award for Excellence in 2007 and the "most energy efficient burner” by the Paraffin Safety Association of South Africa (PASASA). Aavishkaar invested in to the company in 2002.

Shree Kamdhenu Electronics Private Limited (SKEPL), a company based in the town of Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat, India, develops products and systems that help bridge the technology gap in the dairy industry and make milk-production more transparent for the farmers involved. Aavishkaar invested into the company in 2003.
Tide Technocrats operates in the energy space. It supports Carbon Emission Reduction project development, designs composting facilities for municipal solid waste management and undertakes biomass assessment for renewable energy projects. Aavishkaar invested into the company in 2003.

Net Systems is a Mumbai based company that promotes accessibility and assistive technology products for disabled users. It also has strength in training and knowledge management. Aavishkaar invested into the company in 2005.
Creating New Distribution Channels For Agro Products
Naveen Gram identifies and distributes sustainable technologies targeted at livestock and agriculture. The company operates out of Jodhpur in Rajasthan and aims to set up a marketing and distribution channel for rural products that otherwise don't have access to a larger market. The company looks to tie up with innovative rural technology product manufacturers. Thus the company addresses the constraints of awareness, availability and acceptability faced by small enterprises. The product portfolio of the company includes: power thresher, power tiller, drum seeder, insect trap, organic pesticide and the Venus burner (Servals' product). Aavishkaar invested in Naveen Gram in 2005 and exited the investment in 2008.

CK technologies develops affordable bilingual office software aimed at users who do not speak or write English. Its flagship product is a Bilingual Office Suite called "Shakti Office”, which has both English and an Indian language (Hindi or Tamil). The bi-lingual software means that a vast population has the benefits of computerized systems, such as in court houses, police stations, banks etc. Aavishkaar invested into the company in 2006.

Taking Banking To Rural India
Vortex Engineering designs and manufactures low cost ATMs, aiming at delivering the cheapest ATM in the world and yet one that functions efficiently in no-frills locations across remote regions of India. The ATM needs no air-conditioning, offers similar functionality as any other ATM, yet consumes the lowest power for its operation (as low as 20W in its stand-by mode and only about 70 W in peak operation) and is the most environment-friendly ATM by lending itself to function only thru solar power. The ATM is biometric enabled to better secure transactions and prevent misuse among user base. Aavishkaar invested into the company in 2006.

Swas Healthcare provides professional services to traditional medicine system based healthcare centers and hospitals. It runs hospitals and clinics based on Naturopathy, Ayurved, and Yoga to treat chronic diseases like Arthritis, Kidney disorders, Liver disorders, Diabetes, Hypertension, Ulcerative Colitis, Fibromylgia, Spondilitis, Spondylosis, etc. Aavishkaar invested in Swas Healthcare in 2009.
Restoring Health To The Farm Land And Dignity To The Farming Community
Zameen Organic develops transparent trading relationships between ethical textile brands and small scale cotton farmers in India. It markets Fair Trade, Organic and Pesticide Free cotton in India with the objective to set up the first-ever farmer owned marketing company. Zameen works to build profitable supply and demand partnerships between the strengthened farmer groups and ethical brands. Aavishkaar invested in Zameen in 2009.
Share Microfin Ltd. (SML) is a MFI that aims to grow its client base to 15 million members and its outstanding portfolio to about INR 16,382 crore by 2012-13. It is the first MFI in India to obtain a Non Banking Financial Company (Non Deposit) license and also the first Indian MFI to carry out a microfinance securitization transaction. SML also provides collateral free loans to Joint Liability Groups. Aavishkaar Goodwell invested into the company in 2007.
Equitas is a Chennai-based MFI that extends micro credit to people who are otherwise unable to access finance from the mainstream banking channels. It commenced business in December 2007 with the objective to make available finance at a reasonable cost and in a transparent manner to women who are engaged in micro enterprise activities. In the first year of operations, Equitas crossed 250,000 clients, which is a world record. Crisil has given Equitas the highest credit rating (mfR3) for a start up Micro Finance Company in India. Equitas operates in Tamil Nadu currently and aims to expand to other parts of Southern India and all across India over the next two years. Aavishkaar Goodwell invested into the company in 2008.
Grameen Koota is a Karnataka based Non-Banking Finance Company micro finance institution which provides small loans to women via Joint Liability Groups to start income generating activities such as trading, animal husbandry, agricultural production, transportation, etc. In the next five years, the company aims to reach over 2.5 million poor clients across seven states in India. Aavishkaar Goodwell invested into the company in 2008.
Suryoday Micro Finance Pvt Ltd (SMF) is a new age professional MFI that commenced its micro-credit operations in Pune, Maharashtra in May'09, shortly after receiving its NBFC license from Reserve Bank of India. It is engaged in providing loans to women from Economically Weaker Sections, Below Poverty Line and the marginal poor who do not have access to traditional banking, with an objective to reduce poverty in its area of operation. Starting from Maharashtra, the MFI aspires to spread out to other states in the medium term.. Suryoday plans to establish a total of 25 Branches by March 2010. Aavishkaar Goodwell invested into the company in 2009.
Bhartiya Samruddhi Finance Ltd (BSFL) is a part of the Hyderabad based BASIX group. Its strategy is to promote a large number of sustainable livelihoods, which combines the provision of financial inclusion services, agricultural and business development services and institutional development services. BSFL expects to reach 10 million clients by 2014. Aavishkaar invested in to the company in 2009.
Waterlife provides rural communities with potable drinking water by setting up village-level water purification plants in rural areas. These plants, which are owned by the local community, are customized based on the bacterial / chemical contamination of the local water sources. After installation Waterlife operates and maintains the plants, selling the purified water to the village community at affordable rates. The company also works with local entrepreneurs to develop a delivery network to expand the geographic reach of each plant. Aavishkaar funded Waterlife in September 2009.
