Waterlife provides rural communities with potable drinking water by setting up village-level water purification plants in rural areas. These plants, which are owned by the local community, are customized based on the bacterial / chemical contamination of the local water sources. After installation Waterlife operates and maintains the plants, selling the purified water to the village community at affordable rates. The company also works with local entrepreneurs to develop a delivery network to expand the geographic reach of each plant. Aavishkaar funded Waterlife in September 2009.
